we originally thought that 2 of our 2011-12 STINTers would be returning to Hawaii for another year of interning; however, due to some unforeseen circumstances, that is no longer the case.
the 9 of us built up a Cru movement at UH Hilo; however, now they are back to having no other staff except Kent and Erin Matsui. that means the students will really have to step up. i believe with my whole heart they can do it, but it will take a lot of work to sustain what we began. logistically, running a Cru weekly meeting takes several people working together, Bible studies require time and planning, outreaches and events require many hands and feet. i feel like maybe i could have done a better job at preparing and equipping students to step up and take our places. but i know that God can work through anyone and anything ( i mean, He chose to use ME for some reason...) and i have full confidence that our students can step up and keep Ignite shining brightly. we have several freshmen and sophomores, so hopefully they will answer the call to serve.
please continue to pray for our students and the Cru movement at UH Hilo- for wisdom and discernment, for more students to rise up as leaders, and that the Lord would do amazing things through them next year.
